Overview
Yidan is a PhD candidate in Comparative Literature at Cornell University. Her research focuses on animal studies, post humanism, modern Chinese culture, ecocriticism, and queer theory. Her dissertation project examines speculative zoology in postsocialist China, investigating how nonhuman figures mediate unsayable affects and rewrite history. Before Cornell, Yidan received an M.A. from Duke University, where her thesis, In Between the Closet and the Wild, explored the intersections of queer agency and animality in contemporary Taiwan and Hong Kong.
